I think I disabled Word Verification - putting an end to one thing (or as I first typed it, thang) that makes you worry about visual degeneration. I hope commenting becomes easier.

Personally, I don't have that much of a problem with word verification but know a lot of people do. It seems to me that if I just look at the word and type, it somehow comes out right but if I think about what those letters are I get all plexed.
Thank you, thank you! I've worn glasses since the age of 4, and having to decode fuzzy lettering is not at the top of my want-to-do list. Blogger's capchas have gotten more and more bizarre over the last several months. I know most your loyal followers will appreciate not haven't to try 2 or 3 times to get them right and be able to leave a comment. Congrats on that beautiful grand niece!

Rubye - I think that's the key - just make a stab at it and hope for the best. Still, I am puzzled why Google needed to make verification so, well, Byzantine. One less obstacle between readers and me seemed like progress. xo
Erin - I realized how much I appreciate blogs where the verification had been disabled and had received emails from readers who just gave up trying to decipher the devilish little puzzles. Sorry it took me so long to actually take care of it. Thank you, we are so delighted by baby girl Josie Simone. xo
the fewer thangs we have troublin' us, the better...
xo
Thanks for the song that went with this. When I disabled the word Ver. I got a bunch of yucky stuff that blogger missed, so I put it back. I found that they stopped having two really hard words, and now the number and word I DO find manageable.
STILL ... it IS nice to comment on sites that don't have it. Either way, I find that I'll comment on something I really love and I'll always visit, regardless.
Susan - The fewer things...we are allowed some over-the-rainbow moments, vexations melting. It is small but, for now, enough. xo
Jeanette - That song has always spoken to me, especially Valerie Carter's version. Yesterday I had one unwelcome comment on a very old post, for which I received email notification, but when I got to the post to delete it, it wasn't there. If there are more, I will go to denying "anonymous" comments. Then we'll see. Blog enjoyment should not include tests. So glad you visited and spoke. xo
It's a mind game, those verifications! Do I feel more "human" after them or more machine? Who knows. I hate when I get one wrong though and then my comment gets deleted when it reloads and all sorts of crazy things happen. Hope it works!
Rachel - So far, so good. I did have to disallow anonymous comments after some spamming. We'll see. I hope your birthday celebration continues in a more placid fashion, though the on-the-road celebration had its advantages. xo
I have trouble filling out the verifications. I guess it is another thing about growing older.
Laoch - Is it us or them? Either way, "simplify" is a good rule.
good for you. I always think about Europe when I see the numbers on WV-some small fishing village in France perhaps. thanks for the song. perfect.
Beth - Glad you liked it...my hope was/is that by playing it, it will all get easier. Don't you think it's about time? Had a WV today that was some (as you might say) leetle thing that could not possibly be identified. It let me comment anyway. xo
