Shrink and shrink again with borrowed tutorial

My arty,  film noir photography, ominous shadows and all.  Glazed shrink.

Jointed shrink doll to wear as necklace, knotted heavy thread for hair.  Bad lighting, what can I say.  I drew the body parts on paper then, as even the pre-sanded shrink plastic is translucent, traced them.  Plastic shrinks about 2/3 in heating process.

Here is a brief (less than 7 minutes) very beginning tutorial from Joanna Sheen to show some of the shrink art process.  There are many additional videos on YouTube that illuminate different approaches and projects in the shrink world.

goodness, that digs up memories of shrinking chip packets in the oven and wearing them as earrings in the early 80's.

Denise - Never experimented with the chip packets (I think they kept that a secret here) but did do Shrinky Dinks with my young son in the 80s. Then in the 90s found there was so much possibility. xo

Well this is a cool process! I'll have to keep this in mind for possible design projects!
Hope you are well, Marylinn! Forgive my absence. I've been out wandering. xoxo

Rachel - It is a very cool process and there are more tutorials if you're interested. Plus I could tell you more. Many possibilities. And I have been IN wandering, have not shown up in any of the regular spots in any reliable fashion. Not sure quite where I am. I hope your wandering has paid off. xo
