Happy 1st Birthday, Gloria

One year ago today, with a brilliant Sarah Saunders figure as inspiration, Gloria was born.  That she and I and those who've joined the party since are still on this adventure makes me dizzy with gratitude and wonder.  http://marylinnmlkelly.blogspot.com/2013/04/sarah-saunders-ceramics-and-little-made.html

Dear Gloria, may all your wishes come true.  xo

A very happy birthday, Gloria, and you must thank Marylinn for all the delicious sea-salt rich prose she has given us this past year-- the cafe in Billington's Cove redolent of real and butter cream roses and perfectly brewed tea; charming, peaceful, nostalgic episodes whose characters, like Gloria's homemade pastries, seem also to be served on exquisitely painted and brilliantly mismatched plates. The bell tinkles firmly at the door, and I turn to see what other friend is coming in to sit with us. xoxo

Happy Birthday, indeed!! Let us bake the cake for once and pull the pan of scones out of the oven. Take a seat at the finest table Gloria, the one in the window, and let us, your devoted readers, ply you with toothsome baked goods, warm tea and conversations of the cove and all the latest books we've been devouring. Here's to many many more!

Melissa - That I was appointed tour guide and social director for Billington's Cove is a sweet, fragrant honor. The table will soon be filled with dear friends and crumb-covered plates. Thank you for being here. xo

Erin - So delighted you can be with us for Gloria's birthday. She appreciates more than you know both your company and that you baked for her today. We may put a velvet rope around the table by the window, just to be sure it is always saved for you and your circle of friends. xo
