For today, perhaps the next few days, what I want is to wish safety to friends and family in the path of Hurricane Irene. I know you are all wise, will be careful and take whatever precautions you need to. How odd it is/will be in New York with no transportation, no Broadway, no anything, from the sound of it. I can only imagine.
As the politicians are saying, Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Be well. We in other regions are thinking of you with great affection. xo

thanks, marylinn. it's getting a bit wild here, but 10-12 inches of rain is a lot, a 20ft storm surge would cover over my second floor windows. but it's not supposed to be that dangerous. love to all. xoxo
Of course Hurricane Irene is Obama's fault.
Beth - Have been thinking only of good reports from all stations. I am of the precautions rather than regrets school and would rather see over-reaction than under. We know how that turns out.
Melissa - As best I know, your specific spot came through reasonably well, for which I am glad; no storm surge above the second floor windows. It doesn't even bear thinking of. xo
Robert - Of course it was. There he was, on vacation. Who was minding the store? You know it's what they're thinking.
